Healthicare: New State-of-the-Art Neighbourhood Health Hub

As we continue our journey in partnering with general practices to drive health care reform in Western Sydney, WentWest, in collaboration with the Mt Druitt Medical Practitioners Association, proudly supported the creation of a Neighbourhood Health Hub, Healthicare. This not-for-profit organisation is designed to take an innovative approach to building a healthier community through the delivery of integrated primary care services.

With additional support from Blacktown City Council, the Neighbourhood Health Hub utilises state-of-the-art technology and collaborates with health care professionals through a transformative, neighbourhood-based care model. This approach aims to enhance both health and social outcomes for the most vulnerable families in the community.

The Hub opened to patients on the 8 January and celebrated its grand opening on 3 February at The Blacktown Exercise Sports and Technology Hub (BEST).

Ray Messom spoke about WentWest’s impact in Western Sydney over the past two decades and the opportunities that the Health Hub brings to the region.

This new Hub will directly support up to 8,000 families a year but will also support surrounding
general practices and work closely with local primary care providers to make a difference for
the neighbourhood population of more than 100,000 people.
